Nightlife is the second expansion pack, and focusses on sims' ability to go out and about to community lots.

In particular, Nightlife adds the option for sims to own their own car, which can be driven to work, school (for teenagers), or community lots. It also adds a lot of functionality and new objects for community lots, making possible nightclubs and restaurants, among other things. Nightlife also adds vampires, and the opportunity for your sim to become one.

Vampires are unique to this expansion. Inherently nocturnal, they tend to be found only at night on certain community lots. Befriending one is the easiest non-hack, non-cheat way to get your Sim bitten by one, which will result in becoming a vampire. The gypsy matchmaker NPC offers a cure for the effects of vampire bites.
