Traps
Overview
Traps don't kill your Sims. However, they can injure your Sim. When a trap is activated it will have a particular effect on your Sim, depending on what trap you activate. Your Sim will receive a negative moodlet and will have to wait a given period of time before they want to do something.
Types of Traps
There are many types of traps, these include Fire, Poison Darts, Steam, and Lightning traps.
Disarming Traps
It is possible to avoid the effects of a trap. For example, to pass over a fire trap safely, you can jump in water (a dive well) to get the "soaked" moodlet first.
It is also possible to disarm traps using certain objects within the game. Pushing a statue on top of a trap sometimes disarms it. Inspecting holes in the wall or floors of the tomb sometimes trigger a 'hidden switch' which will disarm a trap.
There are some traps your sim can disarm by themselves. An electrical trap cannot be disarmed manually, but you can find an object that will cover the hole. Once a sim experiences the 'Fear' moodlet, however, they are temporarily incapable of disarming or attempting to cross any traps.
