Shouldn't user pages have "User:" infront of them? Jaxad0127 01:14, 20 June 2006 (EDT)

They do. (For example User:Delphy). You might be confusing the People pages of prominent members of the community etc with the actual user pages. Delphy 00:19, 22 June 2006 (EDT)

Sims2Wiki what a Concept

Congratulations on combining the vision, initiative and technical expertise required to launch this exciting new project. Having stumbled on this site in its infancy, it will be interesting and informative to watch it grow and mature. I look forward not only to being a frequent user but seeing it become a huge success in the sims community. --Tatiana 10:52, 29 July 2006 (EDT)

Thank you, but the Wiki in one form or another has been around since 2004. :) I just had the idea to update, revamp, and add a lot more content. Delphy 05:48, 30 July 2006 (EDT)

Welcoming & Categorizing Users

I have a number of templates that you may find useful for this wiki. The first one is a Welcome template that can be included on the Discussion page of new users. Besides a short greeting, it can provide some basic rules. It also explains how to implement a User Page template. The User Page template gives some structure so that new users can fill in simple information. This helps to control what you actually see on the User page. It also has a spot where Skill Box templates are listed. The Skill Box templates can be used to categorize the users into various groups of interest.

Of course the content of these templates would have to be customized for Sims2Wiki but the code behind them will remain the same. I would be happy to participate in the process if you think that the time is right for such an endeavour. --Tatiana 11:52, 13 July 2007 (CDT)

Proposal

I have been using ModTheSims2 and this wiki site for a long time now, and I can't help noticing that the wiki seems to be not as well maintained as the main forum, and in some places incorrectly set up. I believe that a wiki is a great resource and is exactly what The Sims 2 community needs, and I think it's a shame that this wiki isn't as good as it could be with a little effort. Therefore I'd like to propose a joint project between http://sims2wiki.info and my site http://simpedia.co.uk, to come together and create an entirely new wiki where users could take advantage of all the many features that a wiki has to offer. Simpedia has the server power and skilled maintenance team that are necessary to keep a wiki working well and looking good, and this site has the dedicated users and the knowledge to effectively contribute to and build a huge online library of Sims 2 knowledge. Sorry if I sound like one of those people from Wikia who email you saying "I really love the wiki you're building, now delete it and come and join ours instead" - but seriously, please consider this. A well maintained, constantly growing online encyclopedia of game knowledge and info would be a great addition to the MTS2 site, and I think together we can acheive that. Let me know what you think by emailing me (link removed). Sam 11:42, 26 September 2007 (CDT)

Hi Sam. Couple of things. Wikis, as you know, are always ongoing, so just becuase it doesn't have the quality *you* want doesn't mean it's bad. We have a lot of information here - programming details, game help FAQs, creation tutorials, and I honestly don't believe that creating a brand new wiki is the way to go, especially given the sheer amount of information here. We already have a constantly growing encyclopedia - right here. We also have the server power and a dedicated group of volunteers, and MTS2 has always been independant, as will this site. For those reasons I have to turn your proposal down. Thank you anyway. Delphy 15:10, 26 September 2007 (CDT)

No problem... I still think it would be awesome though :( --Sam 15:56, 26 September 2007 (CDT)

no confirmation email

Sorry for posting this here but I can't find an email address for you. Anyway, I have requested the confirmation email twice now but it's not showing up in my email (or spam filter). How long should it take? Thanks. -Eep² 05:54, 30 June 2008 (CDT)

MTS2 does not send out confirmation emails - nor does SXS2. Therefore, you do not need one to post on those sites. S2C, however, does, and if you aren't getting it, use another email address. Delphy 16:24, 30 June 2008 (CDT)
Huh? I'm talking about this wiki... -Eep² 05:47, 2 July 2008 (CDT)
Which is a little silly becuase you *have* a user on here. So I don't see why you are asking. Delphy 06:11, 3 July 2008 (CDT)
The confirmation email isn't required for wiki accts to work, only for email notifications such as watchlists. But indeed, the wiki doesn't send confirmation emails - presumably because it's tied to the MTS2 mailserver? - whiterider 14:25, 3 July 2008 (CDT)

Fansite:Insimenator

As a site admin, are you comfortable with the content of this page? It seems that it's a clear apology of the takeover of the database of Insim by hackers. I've seen people claiming that this is criminal. Albmont 03:08, 11 December 2008 (CST)

I have split the original page into two - the original Insimenator page and the new Insimenator.org page (the SMF based site). I have also removed references to "Walt-free" zones, since they have no real bearing on the site itself. Delphy 07:56, 11 December 2008 (CST)
