Carpool Still Comes

Problem

  • Your sim owns their own car, but the carpool still comes when it's time to go to work.

Solution

This information has been copy/pasted from the EA customer help area.

Your carpool will not arrive if you own a car, however buying a car and owning a car are not the same. When you purchase a car it is considered a shared vehicle, so the owner is Nobody. If you want to assign an owner to the car, just click on it and choose Change Owner, then choose the Sim in your household it should belong to. The carpool will not longer come for that Sim, but other Sims in the house will still get their carpools (in case the owner of the car is at work and the car is unavailable). The car can only belong to one Sim at a given time, so if you want multiple Sims to drive to work, you will need multiple cars (one for each Sim) that are assigned a Sim owner.

Keep in mind that Teen Sims may carpool to school with other Teenagers in the lot. In this way, you can save money by not purchasing that costly sports car you thought was your only option.

Note: More cars means you need multiple driveways or garages.
