NPCs

An NPC is a non-playable character which usually offer a variety of services to your Sims.

Maids	Maids are NPCs who your Sim can hire to clean up your house.	Washing Dishes Taking out the trash Scrubbing Sinks and Showers Making Beds Returning Objects to their rightful place (books, etc) General Tidying
The Police	The Police can be called after a burgler enters the lot. They are also responsible for bringing home rebel teenagers and bringing loud parties to a halt.	Attempts to arrest burglers on a Sim's lot Shuts down loud parties Bring any teens home who have run away Brings back younger Sims if they are out after curphew
Babysitters	Babysitters can be hired to look after younger sims while adults are away.	Looking after younger sims Feeding younger sims Changing any baby's diaper
Repairmen	Repairmen come to your home and fix any broken items.	Fixing Appliances Fixing Electrical Items Puts out any nearby fires
Paper Deliever	A child who delivers papers and books to your Sim's door	Delivers the paper every morning Delivers any book club members a book on Mondays
