TSR's modding tools produce Sims3Pack format files. MTS accepts only Package format files, except in the case of lots. There are a few different methods for converting .Sims3Pack to .package; choose whichever you find most convenient.

  • When you install a Sims3Pack using the Launcher, it creates a .package file in My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/DCBackup. They're all inscrutably named though, with a long string of letters and numbers. You can just rename your .package file from that folder (if you just installed it, sort the folder by date and it should be the last one).
  • Or, use Delphy's Sims3Pack Multi Installer to extract the .package from the .sims3pack. (Especially useful if you have several .sims3pack files in a folder). You'll still have to rename it.
  • Or, use Echo's Lepid Llama unpacker [don't have current link] to do the same thing. You'll still have to rename it. It was built in Java, so Mac OSX users with Java 6 installed will be able to use it.

    • Direct way of converting .sims3packs to .package using TSR's workshop

Once your project is finished, go to the Edit drop down box in the top toolbar, then click on Project Contents. From there, click on Export and choose the option "To .package". Name your file, save it, and bask in the glory that is your new .package file. (NOTE: Older versions of the TSRW might not have this feature.)
