Custom Content Shows up Incorrectly
This article lists all the ways your custom content might not show up properly and links to specific articles on each of those issues.
Hair
Do custom hairstyles show up incorrectly? Are you seeing bunny heads, bald heads, blank heads (a big hole in the head where the hair and scalp should be), or Maxis default styles? For men you'll see the short cropped "afro" style and for women you'll see the basic straight middle-parted hair.
If you are getting any of those symptoms, you are missing the mesh for those items. To get them to show up properly, you will need to download the right mesh and install it properly. For more information, see:

Incorrect Thumbnails
Are the thumbnails for your items showing up incorrectly? Are you getting the wrong outfit, hairstyle, sim, etc. showing up in the thumbnail picture, but the item works properly?
If so, you need to regenerate the thumbnails.
In the game, you can generally regenerate thumbnails by CTRL-clicking on the thumbnail picture. If that does not work, or if there are many items showing up incorrectly, you can force all your thumbnails to regenerate by following the instructions at:
