[edit] No Longer Prompted to Save Files
[edit] Problem
- When downloading, you are no longer prompted to save your files where you want them.
- When right-clicking on a file to save or just clicking on a file to save, you are no longer prompted with a window to save your file wherever you want on your computer. It looks like it's downloading, but you have no idea where.
[edit] Cause
Your files are actually being downloaded to your Temporary Internet Files folder, but who wants to wade through all that junk!
[edit] Solution
Though this has NOTHING to do with Sims 2, but since we are all downloadaholics, here's how to fix this:
- Open up your My Documents folder
- Click on Tools
- Click on Folder Options
- Click on File Types tab
- Search for type of file you're downloading - either .zip or .rar or .sims2pack, etc
- Click on Advanced button
- See "Confirm open after download" - It should be checked - UNCHECK IT - then click OK
- Then CHECK "Confirm open after download" again - then click OK
Close all windows and try downloading again. You should be prompted to ask where you want to save your download again.
