Creator Guidelines - Careers

At the current time the current guidelines for careers are pretty blurred. The current guidelines are a little difficult to follow and need to be updated. These new guidelines will apply to all existing careers.

Requirements for all careers

  • Must not overwrite existing careers (either maxis or custom made.)

Tutorial

  • Must be EP ready.

Note: Updating careers to work with all EP’s are is not exceedingly difficult. The reason for enforcing EP readiness is because most people have at least 1 EP. Having a career that crashes your game is very annoying.

  • Must have new level titles and descriptions.

Tutorial n/a

    • Must be written in correct English, spell checked, and grammar checked. All text(descriptions and chance cards) must be written in a good amount of detail.

Tutorial n/a
Note: Careers are text based packages. Careers are therefore written to be read. Shoddily written careers will not be accepted.

  • Chance cards must be present, well written, and in a sufficient amount of detail.

Tutorial n/a
Note: Chance cards are the most important aspect to a career. A brilliant electrician career can be ruined if athletic chance cards appear in it. If you don’t have the time to write out cards, please write at least 2 or 3, and clear out the text for the other cards. Then, make sure that they are completed a.s.a.p (the cards provided must be of good quality content and grammar).

Posting Guidelines

The following information must be included in your career post:

  • Levels and level descriptions
  • Whether or not it overwrites another career
  • Whether or not it is EP ready
  • If a career includes custom content, it must be linked to and credited for (unless it is your own work)
  • Any other information that you feel relevant

Tagging

All new career threads will be checked by me to check for these criteria, as well as existing ones. Ones that do not comply will be tagged and removed after 7 days, unless fixed. I am doing this simply to help improve the quality of the career section. If I tag one of your threads and you disagree with my opinion, please tell me- I am very open to your thoughts, and will only remove a career if I have to.

Other Notes

  • Careers exempt to the EP requirement guideline are pre-existing careers that are well written.
  • I keep a copy of all the careers I remove, so if you do not have a copy of it to fix I can provide you with one.
