2. I think if a creator says "you may share this object, but no redistribution of the mesh" they are being... uhm, really unclear.  For any sort of object, if you share the object, you're sharing the mesh.  Now, if it's Body Shop stuff that's a little different - recolours are separate from the meshes so that would mean you can share their recolours but need to link back for the original mesh.  That's a pretty standard policy (my own, actually).

Update of existing links I ll add more later... rensim link is false Patul 16:48, 21 January 2007 (CST)

Patul, can you tell me where you found where it says you can upload Reflex's stuff with lots? The only policy I'm seeing on the site is saying that you can recolour but not include meshes - I don't see anything about lot or sim uploads anywhere. Not doubting you, just curious if there's more info on them I don't know about. HystericalParoxysm 17:19, 21 January 2007 (CST)

HP : It was a post some time ago, jonesi (she is a modo of reflexim forum) confirm it in a post... In reflexim site there is only walls and floors ! Updated ....oouuf ! I am waiting for some official replies. I add some alphabetical tabs to find the right place easily...it is a nigntmare without it Patul 05:27, 22 January 2007 (CST)

Okay... I think with the stuff here it's important to either have... the information from their posted policies, or something that can be cited with a link if necessary - if you can find where that was stated, that'd be cool. I'm kind of considering adding another column, for direct links/directions to specific policy pages, or using the Other column for that.

The alphabetical tabs thing was a good idea - I tweaked it some to make it part of the table of contents and add the headings to each block.

I'm just trying to get a feel for the proper format for this new page/section as part of a larger project... and also go through a lot of the main sites myself... Part of the purpose of this is for helping people who are uploading to MTS2... and part of it is also as a quick reference guide for moderators working on the upload queue. Because we intend to use it as an aid in moderation, I'd like to get the basic format and most of the major sites in myself.

Your input on making it more usable and links to sites that should be included would be greatly appreciated here on the talk page, but can I just get you to hold off on direct edits for a few days while I flesh it out?  :) I don't mean to be a control freak, I just want to have something that I'm absolutely sure of.HystericalParoxysm 08:26, 22 January 2007 (CST)

I aggree with you for the imperative security of this kind of infos as they may have a commercial interest in plus or in minus ! For the moderating database , it is nice but it would be better that it become the creators download base It would be easier for the modo and also for the creator to avoid a rejection, perhaps I am dreaming lol

For a link to the policy it may be useful to make the reader sure of the info, a small collumn is sufficient with something like [http..../mypolicy.htm P]. Useful also when a site change, becomming free...or like retailsims in bad, locking all her stuff.

Ask me on MTS if you need infos or anything else.Patul 11:10, 22 January 2007 (CST)

Their site isn't clear on their policy, but the readme file is as follows: You do not have permission to copy, modify (eg. re-colour) or distribute any Wood For Sims objects, our textures and meshes without permission from the author. You do not have permission to link to any pictures or downloads on this site without permission from the author.Daysies 17:56, 4 February 2007 (CST)

My policy is generally decided on a case by case basis. There seems to be too many contingencies to plan for them all. Seeing as you ...... . Thanks!

This is a great reference page, but I would like you to add some more definitions to the key.

1. According to this statement: "All my stuff is free at my site and everything can be recolored and used in homes." If we do NOT recolor his creations, can we share them?

2. Please define "redistribution of mesh". People interpret this differently. If a creator says "you may share this object, but no redistribution of the mesh." Does this mean: a: we cannot share the object at all, because the mesh is with the object b: we can share the object because the mesh is with the object
