Create New shoes for Sims 4 using TSRW

This tutorial will show you how to create a new pair of shoes for Sims 4 using TSRW. It will show you how to clone, extract mesh parts, extract texture files, how to use Milkshape to make new parts. How to create the new mesh UH, HI, Med and Lo mesh parts (Lods in Sims 3), How to make new parts and map them correctly, how to reassign the bones, import them back into the new .wso

You can use this tutorial for any CAS item. Clothing has morphs that shoes don't so you'll have to work with the morphs for clothing which aren't included in this tutorial.

Credit and Thanks

I have taken tidbits, parts and info from several other tutorial makers and used them to create this start to finish tutorial.

Credit and thanks to the makers of TSRW, Milkshape 3D, for info on lods and bone assignments sciguy77, BloomsBase, Sims tool and plugin makers - CmarNYC for Mesh Tool, Wes Howe for the Unimesh Milkshape plugins, Demon432 for align normals plugin, Nvidia for the DDS plugins,

Blue Bellini's Inspiration Model
For this demonstration, I cloned a pair of ballet flats because they are closest in shape to the Bellini's I want to make. I will have to make some mesh modifications and redo the UV map. The inspiration model is shown on the right.
I think that just painting the top edge of the shoe on the foot is messy looking when using DDS. I will make a meshed shoe rather than a painted on shoe so shoe edges are nice and sharp.

Make a Workshop Project:

  • Open Workshop
  • Click Create New Project
  • Select Clothing and click the Next button. Wait for it to populate.
  • Click the + sign to open the subfolders. Click on Female
  • I picked the ballet flats because they were closest in shape to my inspiration model. You can use whatever shoe you want that is closest in shape to your model. yf shoes_ flats ballet_ blue
