No Longer Prompted to Save Files

Problem

  • When downloading, you are no longer prompted to save your files where you want them.
  • When right-clicking on a file to save or just clicking on a file to save, you are no longer prompted with a window to save your file wherever you want on your computer. It looks like it's downloading, but you have no idea where.

Cause

Your files are actually being downloaded to your Temporary Internet Files folder, but who wants to wade through all that junk!

Solution

Though this has NOTHING to do with Sims 2, but since we are all downloadaholics, here's how to fix this:

  • Open up your My Documents folder
  • Click on Tools
  • Click on Folder Options
  • Click on File Types tab
  • Search for type of file you're downloading - either .zip or .rar or .sims2pack, etc
  • Click on Advanced button
  • See "Confirm open after download" - It should be checked - UNCHECK IT - then click OK
  • Then CHECK "Confirm open after download" again - then click OK

Close all windows and try downloading again. You should be prompted to ask where you want to save your download again.
