[edit] Custom Objects on OfB Shelves
[edit] Problem
- Cannot place custom objects on the shelves that come with Open for Business.
[edit] Cause
By default, custom object meshes are not placeable on the shelf sets that come with Open for Business; they just "fall to the floor" under the shelves and do not pop into place like Maxis objects. This can be frustrating, as it appears the only option for those items is to place them on side tables or the floor, which is an extremely inefficient use of your store's space.
[edit] Solution
To fix this problem, the very talented Numenor has created a hack that allows you to place all custom objects on shelves.
However, a better option may be to follow this tutorial to batch fix your objects using SimPE instead of using a hack.
