Inviting More Sims to Parties

Problem

  • I can only invite two sims to a party.
  • After installing a new expansion, I can't invite very many sims to my parties.

Cause

One of the things the game does is try to figure out what your PC can handle performance-wise and adjust settings like visiting sims as necessary. The original game and first expansion or so had relatively low demands - however, later expansions demand a lot more from your system before it will let you have more visitors.

Solution

You can use the cheat intProp maxNumOfVisitingSims 8 which must be done in the neighborhood view (not when playing a family). which will allow you to invite 8 sims to parties. You can go higher, but if you don't have a smokin' awesome computer, you shouldn't invite much more than that as it will cause your game to lag.
