[edit] Current Patch Versions Level 021 (OSX)

  • If you've come by this page via a link and would rather use Launcher to patch, click here to go back to the "parent" page. And a reminder when using Launcher: If the process is halted or interrupted, stop using Launcher and get a direct download from the appropriate Region column below..

  • See Common Errors for some suggestions to fix the most common error messages encountered. Or you can just choose to use the direct download method with the link(s) below.

  • Version.tag would show your true Base Game's gameversion - see Sims 3 Patch Table for actual current values in the "?" placeholders, ie
 [Version]
 LatestBase = 1.??.??.0??0xx
(xx being your region code), which should match your Base Game's icon in Launcher when you hover over it and your info.plist file. To verify the patch really did update your game and completes the full process, you can verify that all versions in these 3 different areas are identical:
  1. Version tag
  2. Launcher's BG icon
  3. BG's info.plist

  • If you're using Launcher (well, if you're using Launcher, you wouldn't be here, but just in case you guys read this anyway), and it stalls after patching to 1.22, you can Force Quit (Cmd+Alt+Esc) and then let Launcher restarts itself to prompt you that now there is an update to 1.24 available. If it doesn't auto-restart, just start it manually from your Alias.

  • Select one, either the Incremental or the SuperPatcher, not both!
    • Incrementals would only patch from the previous version stated and is Region-specific. Choosing an Incremental from the wrong Region or the wrong "_from_xx.xx.xx" file is how most "Invalid File" errors occur.
    • SuperPatcher is cumulative update and contain all fixes from 1.2 onwards. If you're the type who reinstalls a lot, I'd recommend just downloading the SuperPatcher.
      • And anything goes, ie would work on any previous version, though it is still Region-specific for OSX (unlike the Windows version).
      • However, I cannot confirm this personally as I don't have Digital Download versions or bought DVDs of different regions.
      • So, if you have been downloading the Region 1 versions from past links I posted but you do not have a Region 1 game, and the game works; I appreciate if you'd let me know.

  • Please also read What's the use of the MD5 checksum.

Warning.gif Read before proceeding!

Publishing the patch links below is by no means an endorsement that the updates are OK. Usual precautions apply, make backups, wait for mods to be updated, play on new user files while waiting for CC/mod updates and so on.

If you do decide to update, make sure you have made a BACKUP first! If you don't, some of your custom content may not work, which means your Saves won't load after you've saved with borked CC, at the next load time! You must also get updates from the creator(s) for any hacks/mods before playing an updated game, unless you are starting a game from scratch, ie new User files.

Warning.gif As recommended time and time again, make sure you have read TS3 Patching:Before You Begin so you know how to backup and what to backup.

EllaMeshTutorial 10.gif Reminder:

Ensure you have done a backup of the game and the patches before patching, as there is no other way to revert to previous patch versions once you have patched up in OSX. Instructions in How to back up a game patch under OS X

[edit] Previous Patch Versions Level 019 (OSX)

EA made an exception to their policy of removing old OSX patches for patch 1.39 source. This is due to reports @the official forums that patches starting from 1.42 make the game crash more that usual. Rolling back to an older patch, however, means that you cannot install packs released after this version.

Read the following threads if you want background information. And the threads are not limited to these linked below, just these have some pertinent info. Note that I did not read all posts in these threads, so I'm unaware if this workaround work 100% of the time for 100% of the Simmers out there.

  • These are links to the last patch level 011, that still had the super-patches for each EP/SP, if you prefer to have the add-on at the last patch level instead of their retail level versions.
