Patching Sims 3

Patches are updates to your game which fix bugs, add new features, and ensure you can use the latest custom content. Unless there are major issues with a specific patch, MTS staff always recommend fully patching your game.

Before You Patch

Before you patch your game, you should:

• Backup your user files: Just in case something goes wrong, you won't lose all your progress.

• Remove any custom hacks, XML tuning mods, script mods, core mods, etc.: These files are usually only compatible with one specific game version and will not work or will cause problems with any other version.

Current Patch

Download and install to update your game to the latest version. You only need to patch the base game, not the expansions too.

Patch 1.3x Issues (READ THIS!) The newest set of patches are a special case. In order to patch to the newest patch, 1.33, you must first patch to 1.29, then to 1.31, and then to 1.33. Patching straight to 1.33 using the superpatcher without first patching to 1.31 can cause issues which can only be resolved by reinstalling your game! To Patch to 1.33: 1.
