Tutorials:Giving your sims braces

From SimsWiki

Ok. For a start, I apologise for the fact that this tutorial is kinda in the wrong place, as the way I make braces is by modifying the skin tone so that the teeth always have braces, although I have put the tutorial here because this is probably where you will be searching for tutorials on braces.

Right, time to get started.

1. First, open up bodyshop. Select 'Create Parts', then 'Create Genetics'. Choose the skin tone you want, then choose export. Name it whatever you want (something like 'braces' would probably be a good idea.) Now export. DON'T UPLOAD TO GAME YET!!

2. Open up your graphics editing program. Go to 'open file', the find the sims 2 file. Open up 'projects', then find whatever you named your braces project. Switch to thumbnails, and find the picture of a sims's face for your chosen age/gender (look at the file name. If the name includes 'af', the picture is for the adult female skin. If the name includes 'em', then it is for the elder male skin. You get the idea.). Open it up.

3. You should have a picture of a flattened face, with a picture of some teeth in the top right-hand corner. Now you can get painting! Paint your braces onto the picture of the teeth, but remember that in the game, the picture is split between the top and bottom teeth, so don't paint right in the middle, or you will end up with some pretty strange looking braces.

4. Good. Now save. If your want to make braces for other ages/genders, do that now. Go into bodyshop and import your skin tone to the game. The only way to test out what the braces look like is to go into the game and try out the skin tone on a sim in create-a-sim mode, then click around a bit until the sim smiles, so you can see if the braces have worked.

Sorry if this is unhelpful or a bit vague, but I hope it helps!
