setHighestAllowedLevel isn't working

Problem

  • I am trying to use the setHighestAllowedLevel cheat and it isn't working. What is wrong?

Solution

When you are trying to change the lot level, you cannot be building on what is already the highest level in the lot. So, if your highest allowed level is 4 and you want to change it to 5, you have to remove walls, etc from level 4, then use the cheat. To activate the cheat, open the cheat window with ctrl-shift-c and type

  • setHighestAllowedLevel [number]

where number is the number of levels you want. Note that ground is level 0 and something below ground like a basement is level -1.
